Chris Medina Visits BraunAbility® In Chicago

AbilityVoice: a blog about mobility topics

BraunAbility is geared up for another awesome Abilities Expo...this time in the Chicago area. We're especially excited because we'll have a special guest stopping by the booth this weekend. Former American Idol contestant Chris Medina will be on hand for pictures and autographs at the BraunAbility booth from noon to 3 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.

You'll probably remember this highly-publicized story. Chris's fiance, Juliana Barnes, suffered traumatic brain injuries as a result of a severe car accident in October of 2009. Chris made it through several rounds of competition on American Idol impressing the nation, fans and famously bringing J Lo to tears as he raised awareness and support for Juliana's story. While he didn't make it to the finals, he still won a good deal of celebrity and support, including a fully-accessible Toyota Rampvan donated by BraunAbility and Mobility Works.

We're incredibly excited to meet up with Chris, hear how he and Juliana are enjoying their wheelchair van, and introduce him to our fans and friends. In fact, on both Friday and Saturday we're offering 200 free downloads of his song "What Are Words" which he wrote for Juliana. And one more bonus-Juliana's mother, Janet, will be alongside with copies of her recently-published book, "Almost, almost."

So, we'll see you there, right? The Chicago Abilities Expo is held at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center. Visit the Abilities Expo site for show times and other highlights!
