At BraunAbility, our awareness of the special needs of wheelchair users is a valuable resource. You can count on our experience in designing commercial wheelchair lifts and wheelchair accessible vehicles to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). But beyond that, our commercial vehicles are designed to meet your needs, with performance, safety, and reliability that will keep your fleet up and running day after day, year after year.
BraunAbility traces its origin back to 1963 when Ralph Braun, driven by a personal desire for better mobility, invented the Tri-Wheeler in his cousin's farm shop. Numerous requests from other wheelchair users led to the founding of Save-A-Step Manufacturing Company the following year. By 1972, the company had grown to become BraunAbility. Today, BraunAbility manufactures a full line of mobility products. Committed to engineering excellence, BraunAbility continues to develop new and better products designed to increase the versatility of your transit fleet.
