Global Mobility Solution Innovation Lab

In 2021, BraunAbility opened its Global Innovation Lab, a 20,000-square-foot building next to the company headquarters in Carmel, Indiana. The state-of-the-art technology center houses mobility engineers and product development experts focused on the next generation of advanced mobility solutions.

The teams at BraunAbility and Purdue University designed an autonomous vehicle with universal design features to accommodate people with physical and sensory disabilities, including a smart ramp, wheelchair docking system, and an accessible on-board user-interface.

BraunAbility Partners with May Mobility on Autonomous, Accessible Travel

May Mobility partnered with BraunAbility to incorporate ADA-compliant autonomous vehicles in their May Mobility Toyota Sienna Autono-MaaS (S-AM) fleet. They aim to produce a rear-entry conversion that will accommodate a range of passengers and use new audio and visual cues to keep passengers informed of the key moments of their journey.

First-Ever Wheelchair Vehicle Reimagined for 50th Anniversary

For BraunAbility's 50th anniversary, the team at BraunAbility recreated Ralph Braun's original mobility vehicle, a modified 1961 postal Jeep. Complete with modern mobility solutions, the vehicle named Ralph-E, is an electric vehicle that celebrates 50 years of innovation.
