Braun Corporation Issues Voluntary Recall 18V489 and Free Repair on Certain BraunAbility Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country Side-Entry Wheelchair Accessible Vans

Braun Corporation is voluntarily recalling MY2012 – MY2018 BraunAbility Dodge and Chrysler side-entry wheelchair accessible vehicles. The recall (18V489) affects approximately 31,000 vehicles.

During internal testing, Braun Corporation identified that brake lines may not be connected to the corresponding ports on the hydraulic control unit, causing reduced performance of the electronic stability control (ESC) system. Authorized mobility dealers will reroute the brake lines and install a brake line extension. This repair will be completed free-of-charge.

Braun Corporation will notify owners via mail by the end of September, and owners can schedule a service appointment with an authorized dealer at that time.

Safety is Braun Corporation’s top priority. Though no incidents have been reported, Braun Corporation is taking proactive, voluntary measures and providing related repairs free-of-charge to ensure all vehicles reflect the company’s high standards of quality and safety.
