What are the advantages of using a Century 2 Lift?
The Century 2 Lift is our low price lift, while retaining the quality and strength you expect of a BraunAbility lift product. This lift has a spring-loaded mechanical rollstop. This means there is a foot along the front edge of the lift that touches the ground and releases a locking latch on the outer barrier so the wheelchair user can enter or exit the lift platform. The Century 2 model lift is best suited for flat or level surfaces. If the area you parked has particularly uneven ground, the foot may not touch the ground and unlock the barrier. In this use case, the Millennium 2 Lift would be a better fit.
Can the lift be ordered with the pump on either side?
Yes, the IB or FIB (see the table below) designates on which side the pump will be located. The IB is a pump on the left side as you're looking at the vehicle or inside towards the rear of the vehicle. The FIB is on the right looking at the vehicle or towards the front of the vehicle.
Why would it make a difference on what side of the lift the pump is located?
Some models of vehicles will have a floor mounted heater or air conditioner. If this is the case, when installing a lift in the side door of a van or bus you would want to ensure the pump is located on the opposite side so the lift is able to be serviced easier.
What is the weight capacity of the Century 2 Lift?
Century 2 Lifts with model numbers beginning with NCL91 are rated at 800 lb capacity. Model numbers that start with NCL1000 are rated at 1000 lb capacity.
