A WAV is a wheelchair accessible vehicle. These vehicles are designed for those with mobility disabilities , who may have limited ability to safely enter and exit a traditional vehicle. WAVs are designed with multiple ramp and entry options to best accommodate people with disabilities and their caregivers.  A WAV is sometimes called a handicapped van or wheelchair van, but we prefer wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Our WAVs have two entry options: side-entry, and rear-entry.

Side-entry options are ideal for wheelchair users who will drive, or ride in the front passenger seat.

Our rear-entry vehicles are ideal for those who will not ride in the front seats, or those who have larger wheelchairs.

WAVs typically come in two ramp styles: manual, and power. For those who are physically capable of deploying a ramp on their own, or those who travel with a companion, a manual ramp may be best. For those who cannot deploy a manual ramp, or do not travel with a companion, a power ramp may be ideal. 

The process to build a wheelchair accessible vehicle is complex. For an access ramp to be added to a handicap van, the entire structure of the vehicle must be modified.
