United Access offers wheelchair accessible vehicle service, maintenance, and repairs at our dealerships across the country. We are a member of the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association and proudly participate in the Quality Assurance Program (QAP). We understand that problems can occur at any time and are prepared to take your call whenever you need us. Your safety and transportation needs are top of mind at United Access. 


For a limited time, United Access is offering $99 mobility equipment inspections (a value to you of approximately $150 depending on installed equipment). Regular preventative maintenance on your wheelchair accessible vehicle and mobility equipment keeps you independent and mobile and can save you money by extending the life of your adaptive products. 1

United Access prevents your accessible van, truck, and SUV breakdowns with scheduled servicing, inspections, and repair services. Our maintenance includes inspecting and keeping your mobility equipment, such as vehicle lifts, ramps, and driving aids, functioning properly so you can maximize the life of your vehicle and get the most out of your investment. Proactively taking care of your vehicle with preventative maintenance is the key to avoiding costly breakdowns and the frustration of needing repairs.

United Access offers an extended vehicle protection plan on our wheelchair accessible vehicles through our partner, BraunAbility. The BraunAbility Protection Plan offers optional coverage for Mobility Equipment including chair lift motors and assemblies, electric/hydraulic ramp controls and assemblies, adjustable seating mechanisms, adjustable pedal and steering control mechanisms, hoist, and swing-arm mechanisms.

Can you put a wheelchair in a van? 

Yes, you can put a wheelchair in a van. Most vans are equipped with a wheelchair lift or can be modified to have one. 

Why are wheelchair accessible vans so expensive?  

Wheelchair accessible vans are expensive because the vehicles are custom designed and built to be wheelchair accessible. They must meet specific safety standards, have additional wheelchair securement systems, and have a lowered floor with a ramp and adequate headroom. All of these accessories add to the cost of the vehicle.

Why are wheelchair accessible vehicles so expensive?

Wheelchair accessible vehicles are so expensive because they have been designed for a specific purpose and altered to accommodate a wheelchair using occupant, and as such they require specially designed components, such as a lowered floor, raised doorways, and other features. These customizations add significant cost to the vehicle, and wheelchair accessible vehicles must also meet stringent safety and performance standards, requiring more rigorous testing and certification.

$99 MEI must be scheduled between November 1, 2023 and January 31, 2024.  Includes original equipment manufacturer cleaning and maintenance for all conversion or lift components plus maintenance for manual or electric tie downs and mechanical hand controls – Does not apply to high tech driving systems. Any additional labor or parts at additional costs. Does not apply to UVL lifts and in-floor ramp products. Extra fees may apply. Additional fees apply for In-floor ramps and UVL lifts to pull floor or lift pan.
