Ability Center and United Access have both served our customers, their families and their caregivers for over 50 years. Together, as part of the BraunAbility family since 2017, we’ve grown to 50 total locations across the country. Simplifying to one brand name allows us more time and energy to focus on you, our customers.
What will change? Just the name.
The Ability Center website and storefronts will transition to United Access name through the course of 2023, but most importantly, the people you trust, and respect remain the same. We are honored to continue serving you as one united team. No matter what store you visit, you’ll experience the same high standards of service and care from our mobility consultants and technicians.

Was Ability Center acquired?
United Access and Ability Center were both acquired by BraunAbility in 2017 and 2018 respectively. This change in 2023 is not an acquisition or merger but simply a name change for improved customer service.
Are you closing stores?
No, there are no plans to close stores. We are planning on opening more locations, most recently in Fremont, CA March 2023.
Are you consolidating stores?
No, there are no plans to consolidate stores.
Will there be any staffing changes that might affect me?
No, the local team you rely on is still ready to serve. We remain one team with the same commitment to change and improve the lives of people with mobility disabilities along with their families and caregivers.
Will hours of operation change?
Hours of operation will continue to remain the same.
Will the Ability Center dealership where I bought my accessible vehicle still service my vehicle?
Yes, please continue to bring your accessible vehicle to your local dealership, now named United Access, for the same service, maintenance, and repairs.
How will this impact my access to inventory?
You will have access to more inventory. Instead of 1 or 5 nearby locations, you will now have over 50 inventory locations to choose from. We also recently launched a Red Tag program where we regularly discount accessible vans, trucks, and SUVs.
Will my monthly payment be paid to the same place?
Yes, your bill will continue to come from your same finance lender.
Does this affect my warranty?
No. Your warranty will continue to be honored.
Will service quality change?
Our service departments adhere to the highest quality of standards and service with certification from the NMEDA QAP program. You can continue to expect the highest caliber of service.
How will my financing options change?
You may have access to more financing options to assist you with accessing your mobility solutions. Please contact your local store to discuss options.
Will the quote you gave me still be honored?
Our policy on quotes will main the same: all mobility product quotes are honored for 90 days, and all offers on trade–ins will be honored for 30 days.
