Don’t Forget Your Free Money: Manufacturer Rebate Programs
Posted by Jack on Thursday, July 9th, 2009Whether you’re looking for a wheelchair minivan or a wheelchair lift or scooter lift for a full-size van you already own or are planning to purchase, your financial investment is always going to be a consideration. BraunAbility’s mission is to provide our customers with the safest, most reliable, comfortable, & easy-to-operate wheelchair vans and wheelchair lifts available - both the corporation and each of our dealers understand the importance of the investment our customers make, and always strive to produce superior products and provide excellent service that make that investment worth it.
Particularly in today’s difficult economy, every dollar counts when you’re making decisions about what you can and can’t afford to go without. Feeling that your mobility is restricted by financial constraints is discouraging, and we don’t like the idea of anyone having to face that challenge and find no answers or possibilities. That’s why our mobility van dealers are extremely informed and able to assist you in navigating your way through the tax incentives offered by the state & federal government and the rebate programs offered by auto manufacturers.
Even in this economy, you can still apply for and receive substantial rebates from auto manufacturers, so they’re worth looking into whether you’re in the before, during, or after phase of purchasing your wheelchair van or wheelchair or scooter lift. I wanted to give you a little bit more information about the different reimbursement/rebate programs available from auto manufacturers so you can become familiar with them before you visit your mobility van dealer, or before you consider purchasing wheelchair lifts or other adaptive equipment for a van you already own. Check out their websites and the information they provide about rebates for wheelchair vans and wheelchair lifts- then, for more personalized information, contact a BraunAbility dealer who can guide you through the process of applying and receiving these rebates.
Our dealers can assist you in navigating your way through the tax incentives offered by the state & federal government, and the rebate programs offered by auto manufacturers.
Toyota
The Toyota Mobility Program provides up to $1000 in reimbursement for adaptive equipment (such as wheelchair lifts, assistive seating, driving aids, and more) installed on new Toyota vehicles within 12 months of the delivery date of the vehicle. You have to submit the application for reimbursement within 90 days of the completion of your vehicle adaptation, so keep all of your receipts and documentation together and if possible, take care of this as soon as you purchase your mobility van or adaptive equipment. The program also offers extended-term financing for vehicles and equipment, so ask your dealer about whether this option may apply for you as well.
Chrysler
Chrysler’s AutoMobility Program is “designed to help customers with permanent disabilities enter, exit, and/or operate a new vehicle”, and it’s similar to the program mentioned above, with reimbursements from $200-$1000 available depending on the type of adaptive equipment installed (for example, wheelchair lifts installed in full size vans are eligible for a $500 reimbursement). You may need a prescription for certain adaptations, and you have to submit the application within 60 days of equipment installation- check out the application and be sure that you have all of your papers in order when you purchase your vehicle and mobility equipment.
GM
The GM Mobility Assistance Program offers reimbursement for adaptive equipment installed on new purchased or leased GM or Chevrolet vehicles- for wheelchair lifts installed in a full-size Chevy Express or GMC Savana van, you may qualify for a $1200 rebate! The program also offers reimbursement for other mobility modifications such as assistive seating & floor lowering. It may even be possible to incorporate your reimbursement into your vehicle’s sales contract, so be sure to talk to your BraunAbility dealer so you understand how to take full advantage of this program.
BraunAbility and our dealers are always available to assist you in getting the highest-quality mobility vans and equipment, affordably and easily. Just give our dealers a call or visit and talk with them about any questions you have - we’re always happy to help!
