Wheelchair Vans: Direct vs. Local – pt. 6 of 6

Posted by on Friday, February 6th, 2009

This post concludes Assistive Technology Specialist Burnie Blackmon’s six part video series.  In this last segment, he focuses again on the one issue that drives many people to consider purchasing a wheelchair van direct from the manufacturer: price.  Of course, I realize that price is a pretty big issue (I do have two kids in diapers after all), but I hope this video series has got you thinking about all the other things you need to take into account when considering your purchase.  After all, you will depend on your wheelchair van for so much in your daily life, more than any other vehicle you’ve owned in the past.

The bottom line is this: we could sell our handicapped vans and wheelchair lifts for less money were we to sell direct to the consumer.  But if we did, we would never be able to provide an acceptable level of service after the sale.  Our dealers play a critical role in the process, and BraunAbility is committed to our “bricks-and-mortar” business model because it’s worked for over forty years – ever since Ralph Braun began building products in his parent’s garage. While the internet has helped us showcase the features of our products to a much wider audience in recent years, it will never replace face-to-face interaction with our dealers and the benefits you will receive by building a lasting relationship with them.

When you buy a BraunAbility wheel chair van, you’re buying into a nation-wide network of people committed to supporting you and keeping you on the road.  Because – if you’ll permit me to shift into ‘marketing gear’ for a moment – “Life is a Moving Experience!”

As always, we’d love to hear what you think about this or any other issue – please leave a comment below!

    Hi Jason,

Thanks for the comment, I’ll have to do some checking with the Product Support department tomorrow when I’m back in the office and get back to you then.

    Jason,

I’m not sure if this dealer is on the right island, but it will be a good place to start: Servco 808-564-1050. If they can’t help you, the should be able to recommend someone. Please let me know if I can help further!

    Jack
