Our Dealers – #1 Supporter of Local Disability Communities

Paralyzed Veterans of America – just one of the many local and national disability-related causes that Absolute Mobility and dealers across our network regularly support.

You know we love our BraunAbility dealer network because they do a PHENOMENAL job of recognizing a customer’s needs and making sure they leave with the accessible vehicle that’s going to fit your lifestyle best, not just whatever makes a sale.

Well, here’s another reason our dealers are invaluable: no one supports the local disability community like they do. From individual fundraisers to providing vehicle support for nearby events, each of our dealers contributes thousands of dollars and, in many cases, the same number of hours, helping the local disability community each year.

Take Absolute Mobility (locations in Woodinville and Tacoma, Washington) for example. The dealership was recently awarded the Enduring Friendship Award by the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) in recognition of the dealer’s “extraordinary support” of the organization. Absolute Mobility has supported the PVA in a number of ways over the last several years. For example, just a few weeks ago the dealership was shuttling veterans from the airport to PVA’s Northwest Trapshoot Competition.

Another invaluable way dealers show their support: stocking the local equipment closet. Every community has individuals or families who cannot afford decent mobility equipment. When dealers like Absolute Mobility have older equipment that needs a little love (older scooters, wheelchair lifts, even wheelchair vans), they oftentimes donate it to a local nonprofit. That organization refurbishes the equipment and then adds it to its “closet” of equipment. When the nonprofit is contacted by someone in need of mobility assistance, they have a selection to either loan or donate from.

“We’re able to support our local causes, and they in turn can support the individuals who could use a little help to afford the equipment they need,” says Amanda Riveira of Absolute Mobility.

Our dealers don’t hear it enough, but we’re very proud of all the charitable work they do behind-the-scenes. So much of it goes unnoticed or unrecognized, but never unappreciated.

Congrats to Absolute Mobility on their award and many years of service to the PVA and the many disability-related causes in the Washington area. Feel free to give your favorite dealer a shout-out for the credit they deserve…either here or on our Facebook page!
