Wheelchair Vans: Direct vs. Local – pt. 4 of 6

Wheelchair Vans – Buying Direct vs. Local – Part 4

In this fourth segment of a six-part series, Assistive Technology Specialist Burnie Blackmon continues his discussion on the issue of where to buy your wheelchair van. He turns his attention to the importance of building a relationship with your local BraunAbility Dealer, and why our dealers play such an important role in keeping you “on the road” after the sale.

Your BraunAbility Dealer will take the time to get to know you – your level of ability, where you frequently drive, who will travel with you, the type of chair you use, where you work . . . the list goes on and on. All of this important information will allow the dealer to match you to the handicap van that will best meet your needs. And, it will support the dealer’s ability to service your wheel chair van effectively after the sale.

No two disabilities are alike, so it’s simply impossible for us to outfit a ramp van at the factory that will meet everyone’s needs. While we do what we can by creating the base lowered floor minivan conversion – you and our dealers have to take it from there and fine-tune the conversion so it works for your situation.
