Accessible & Economical

Side-Entry (SE)

The BraunAbility CompanionVan is the premier wheelchair vehicle that offers the accessibility of traditional lowered-floor minivans in a streamlined, economical package. With a manual door and manual bi-fold ramp, these wheelchair vehicles are the perfect choice for those who will travel with an attendant. In the Side-Entry model, both front seats and the rear bench seat are retained during the conversion process, allowing seating for up to four ambulatory adults with one wheelchair secure position in the center lowered floor area. For the Rear-Entry model, two unique Flip & Fold second-row seats allow seating for up to four ambulatory adults with one wheelchair secure position in the rear lowered floor area. In the CompanionVan wheelchair vehicle, the seats fold up allowing the lowered floor area to easily accommodate two wheelchair passengers.

Lowered Floor

The Side-Entry's floor is lowered from the rear bench seat to just behind the front seats, allowing space for one wheelchair. The Rear-Entry design features a lowered floor from just behind the front seats all the way to the rear of the van, with room for two wheelchairs with the seats folded up. Which model you choose will depend on many factors, including the type of parking you typically encounter (parallel, angled, or 90-degree). For more on the pros and cons of each conversion, you can read about both of these wheelchair vehicles on our AbilityVoice blog.

If you are looking for a budget-friendly solution to your personal mobility, this innovative conversion could be the answer. Contact your nearest BraunAbility Dealer to see if the CompanionVan is right for you.
