BraunAbility Ultimate Fan Wheelchair Van Giveaway

Posted by on Friday, May 1st, 2009

BraunAbility really is doing a wheelchair van giveaway to one lucky person. And this is not just your every-day, run-of-the-mill wheelchair van we’re talking about here!

If you read AbilityVoice regularly, then you already know about our Ultimate Fan Van Toyota Sienna with the BraunAbility Rampvan conversion. If you haven’t seen it, you can read all about it in this article. Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of the “Fan Van Giveaway” website. For the next 4 months, people from across the country will have the opportunity to win this unique handicap van. BraunAbility Rampvan conversions already draw some attention when people see them in use in parking lots – wait ’til people get a load of this driving down the road!

Winning the van is pretty simple: just go to and fill out the online entry form. The main requirement is you must rely on a wheelchair for your daily activities. We’ll ask for your contact info and you’ll need to write a short essay answering the question, “How will the ultimate Fan Van make a difference in my life?” You’ll receive a confirmation email after you submit your entry. After September 1, 2009, a panel from BraunAbility, Toyota, Great Clips and Braun Racing will select the lucky winner. That’s all there is to it!

It was exciting seeing this van take shape when it was created last year for the SEMA show, and now it’s even more exciting to know it will make a difference in one lucky person’s life. If you know of someone who might benefit from this unique wheelchair van, please help us spread the word about!

The van was recently on display at the Food City 500 at the Bristol Motor Speedway, and it may be appearing at future events in the coming months – we’ll keep you posted here on the blog. Get your entry in today at, and good luck!

    Hello Mr. Bozza,
    Thank you for your post.
Unfortunate there are few, things, for free, especially things as expensive as a handicap van. Occasionally a group will pool their resources and offer a van to some deserving individual, as is the case with Ultimate Fan Van. Hopefully you have already gone to the web site and entered to win.
My suggestion, in addition to registering to win the Ultimate Fan Van, is that you begin to develop a network with a few friends, family members, church group, &/or clubs and develop your own private fund raising. This can be a long term project because the single contributions are generally small. The more people you can bring into your network the faster funds can be generated, so don’t limit yourself to just the people and groups you know personally. Ask each one in your network to think of people and groups with which they are acquainted and enlist them to promote your fund raiser. Obviously you need to contact the local media and try to get them to give the most free exposure possible. Contact the local Mobility Equipment Dealers and ask them to promote your fundraiser. If you really work at it you may be surprised with the result.
There are organizations in every state that MAY also provide assistance and advice with acquisition of transportation equipment, like Veterans Administration, Vocational Rehabilitation, Medicaid Waver, Make-A-Wish Foundation and disability specific groups like Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy etc.
Please feel free to contact me if I can be of further assistance.

I am a totally disabled senior who is confined to a power wheel chair for the past 14 yrs. I presently live in a seniors community on a fixed income (SS) without any means of transportation. I wish to obtain information on the availability of free Handicap Vans. In-fact, I have several medical issues including cancer & I would like to see some of this country before I die. Thank-you. Hello Brian,

I think you have misunderstood part of the article – we do not have a booth at SEMA ourselves, the NASCAR Sienna was created for the Toyota booth at SEMA. Hope that clears it up!

I currently have a Nissan Titan that will soon be featured in Truck’n Magazine and Sport Truck Magazine. I was wondering who I could contact about putting my truck in your SEMA booth this year if there were any takers. It has full custom suspension for ease of getting in, it has hand controls with full custom paint and is a real head turner. If you the Braun Corporation is interested, I would love to be contacted. My cell number is on my website. I just dont want to post it up here. I have looked for other means of searching for contact information but fell short. Let me know who to talk to via email or cell. Thanks Brian Montgomery
